About older doorbell wiring
A lot of Philly rowhomes still have the original low-voltage doorbell wiring from decades ago — sometimes too weak or the wrong transformer for a modern video doorbell. I check that first and tell you honestly if it's a fit; swapping a transformer at the panel is electrician work, so a battery-powered doorbell is the fallback when the wiring isn't right.
Brick, stone, and stucco are no problem — most Philly rowhomes need masonry anchors for exterior cameras. It takes a bit longer and carries a small surcharge, which I'll confirm before we book.

I pull up the live feed on your phone right there and show you it works, then clean up. You pay when you're happy with it.

Before you book.
Do I need to buy the cameras, or do you supply them?
Either. If you already picked a brand — Ring, Nest, Arlo, Eufy, whatever — I'll install what you have. If not, I can bring standard battery or plug-in cameras for an added parts cost. The labor price is the same either way.
Can you install a video doorbell if I don't have doorbell wiring?
Yes — most smart doorbells also run on battery, so a missing or too-old wiring setup isn't a dealbreaker. Running new wiring or swapping a transformer at the panel is licensed electrician work, so for a hardwired setup I'll point you to one — the battery option is what I install directly.
Will the camera end up pointing at my neighbor's yard?
No — I aim every camera to cover your property (entry, porch, driveway, backyard) and angle around shared sightlines wherever the mounting spot allows it. If your ideal spot genuinely can't avoid it, I'll tell you before I mount anything, not after.
Do you set up the phone app too, or just the hardware?
Both. Hardware is half the job — I pair the device to your account, name it, and test the live feed and notifications on your phone before I consider it done.
What if my Wi-Fi doesn't reach the camera spot?
I test signal strength at the mounting location before drilling anything. If it's too weak, we talk through the options on the spot — a different spot, a camera on existing wiring instead, or a Wi-Fi extender — so there are no surprises after installation.
How soon can you come out?
Once booking opens, most camera and doorbell installs are same-week. You'll pick an exact slot online, then track my ETA live on the day.
