About rowhome plaster & trim
Old plaster walls sometimes need extra prep — a skim coat or stronger primer — that drywall doesn't. Trim in older rowhomes has often been painted a dozen times over, which can mean more sanding before the new coat goes on.
None of that is hidden after the fact — it's in the quote upfront, based on the photos you send.
Two coats is standard; going dark over a light wall (or the reverse) sometimes needs a third to cover evenly — that's the "extra coat" add-on below if it applies. Heavy furniture moving and larger patching jobs are priced separately too, called out in your quote.

A few photos of the room and your color plan gets you an itemized quote, usually same day — no in-person estimate visit needed. Photo quotes are an estimate — I confirm the final price when I arrive and see the walls, since wall condition, patching needs, and color coverage aren't always visible in photos. If the price changes, you'll know before I start.

Why isn't painting flat-rate like your other services?
Room size, wall condition, and color change all swing the real cost too much for one flat number to be honest. Instead, you send a few photos and get an itemized quote back the same day — approved before I start, so there's still no surprise at the end.
Do I need to pick out paint myself?
Yes — this is labor only, so you'll need to have the paint on hand before I arrive. I'm happy to talk through sheen or finish if you're unsure what to buy, but picking and purchasing the paint itself is on you.
Do you paint ceilings?
Yes, as an add-on per room — ceilings usually need a different paint sheen and extra care around light fixtures, so they're priced separately from the walls.
What about cracks or damage in old plaster?
Small nail holes and minor dings are included in the prep. Larger cracks or plaster damage get called out in your quote as a separate line, so you know before I start, not after.
How long does a typical room take?
Usually one day for a standard bedroom or living room, including dry time between coats. Larger or multi-room jobs get a timeline in the quote.
Do you move the furniture?
Light furniture, yes — I move it to the center of the room and cover it. Heavy pieces like bed frames or wardrobes are an add-on, or you can shift them yourself beforehand.
